Bible Bee Locals

Last Saturday, Jessica, Jason, Jeannine, and Julia participated in the Local Bible Bee.  Joanna and I are too old this year, so we helped out with registration as well as did the Sword Study and quizzed our siblings.  All four of the participants worked very hard, and we are pleased to announce that at our local Jeannine got 5th place in Primary and Jessica got First Place in Senior!!!!  (note: this does not automatically mean either of them made it to Nationals - National qualifiers are the top 100 nation-wide for each age category and will be announced Wednesday night - we are all waiting with baited breath!!!)
waiting for the oral round

The five parents who participated in the informal Parents' Bee a few weeks ago each recited their favorite verse.  Mommy recited Psalm 9:1-4.

Our family and a few of the Yarashus kids sang the Smile Song for the closing ceremony.

After the Bee, we went to Milwakee Custard with our friends the Yarashai and then us kids went to their house for the evening while our parents went to a birthday party for a friend in MD.  One of our favorite things to do with the Yarashai is to Contra dance.  Here is a video to give you a taste.  We learned this dance at the wedding in AK, and for lack of a better name, call it the "polka dance" because it has the polka step in it.
