Back in the Air Again: TX & CO

After our trip to the Dominican Republic in July/August, we had some good weeks at home.  We arrived home at 2am Friday morning, and on Saturday were out for 12 hours straight - first a Bible Bee gathering, then straight to a friend's wedding reception (we missed the ceremony because we were leading the BB event), then straight to a graduation party/picnic for the evening.  Anyway, it was crazy but lots of fun.  Two weeks later we hosted our local Bible Bee with 69 contestants (hopefully pictures will be forthcoming eventually).  Then we launched into studies - from 4th grade to college and seminary classes :P.... and traveling in various combinations to various places.

In September Joanna and I (Janelle) had the opportunity to join 100 other CollegePlus students in SanAntonio, Texas for a retreat/conference called CPE3 - CollegePlus Engage, Equip, Empower.  We enjoyed our first-ever visit to Texas!  We made lots of new friends and spent time with a few old ones :)  We learned a lot from the speakers and really enjoyed networking and hearing everyone's exciting plans for their lives.

 We were privileged to be a part of entrepreneurship workshops led by Woody Robertson and Ryan Yamane, two of the founders of CollegePlus.  Woody also took time to talk with Joanna and me for a while specifically about our business ideas.  We really appreciate CP's mentorship focus and benefitted from it several times during the week!

 I broke my poor toe during a game of ultimate frisbee (and kept playing for 30 minutes.  I DID catch the last goal, though!!!)  It got blue-er than this and had to be wrapped for several weeks, but I was well taken care of :)

The weekend after Joanna and I returned from TX, our parents flew out to CO to celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary before our dad's business meetings the next week.  They enjoyed lovely hikes as well as visiting old friends and making new ones at the two churches the visited on Sunday.
