In October "us girls" (aka Jessica, Joanna, and Janelle) had our dreams realized by taking a road trip to Ohio. The eight hours to our first destination was the longest road trip we've done on our own, and adding all the back and forth in OH over the weekend and then the trip home, we spent about 22 hours driving over the 4 days.
I'm convinced that we picked the best weekend of the year to travel - the trees were vivid hues of Fall colors.
Our first destination was the Martin family's home where we joined three other families (adding up to 30 kids/young adults) to celebrate Zach's birthday with a hike and a rousing game of Ga-Ga. We've known the Martins for several years from Bible Bee Nationals and a few visits to our house, and Jessica's spent countless hours on Google Hangouts with the twins.

The next morning Joanna and I were up early to drive the 2 hours to church with our Aunt Becky, Uncle Tim, Tessa, and Rachel.
Then we drove another hour to stay with our friends Bridget & Brittany (also twins) who we met through CollegePlus and Bible Bee Nationals last year.

Bridget works for the Bible Bee, so we got to go to work with her and help in the office for the morning. Since Nationals was coming up, there was LOTS to do, and it was fun to be included in the prep work. Plus it was SO fun to see other Nationals friends and the office that we call so often for hosting help.

Tuesday morning we were up before dawn to head the 2 hours back to the Martins to pick up Jessica. From what I hear, the girls did LOTS of talking, and Jessica played games with the boys and helped Josh review verses for Bible Bee.
And then more sad but sweet goodbyes along with a blessing song and lunch, snacks, and coffee for the road - all with so much love!
Thank you Martins and Bridget and Brittany for having us!! We had a blast and were so blessed!

The next weekend we decided we needed to make time for a weekend together, so we headed out to one of our favorite camping spots - Point Lookout State Park in southern MD. This turned out to be a more social camping trip than usual, with a visit one day from our Aunt and Uncle, visiting our Uncle Paul and his church on Sunday, and then visiting with some other friends on Sunday night (one of whom crammed in with us for the night. :) Sorry I missed pictures of the people. :(
Despite a lot of rain, the sun came out a bit on Sunday and all day Monday!
Jason got to take his online math class while camping.
And Jessica worked on her counseling class...
And we... made grilled cheese! yum!

Especially enjoyed the pictures from Bible Bee HQ - that's so awesome that you girls were able to visit! And it was great getting to see Jessica at nationals - thanks for being our stage mom. :) Much love and have a blessed rest of the weekend!
