Communicators for Christ Conference

The Institute for Cultural Communicators is a speech and leadership organization that Jessica, Jason, Jeannine, and Julia have been involved in starting last school year.  Last weekend we all attended one of their Communicators for Christ conferences held in MD.  Jessica was a Student Instructor for the conference (she did the same thing for a Michigan conference last month), which involved going a few days early to plan and prepare and then teaching classes and helping lead the whole conference.

Jason served as an apprentice which means that he assisted in classes, helped with facilities, served food, and did whatever else was asked of him.  He also had some classes to attend.

Jeannine and Julia were part of the Young Cultural Communicators track learning lots about how to be a good leader and communicator.

Our parents had classes for being coaches and Joanna and I helped out in the kitchen.

Here are some pictures:

Jason was asked to give his "4 Pups and a Worm" speech for all the parents and teachers attending the conference and then one of the leaders critiqued and coached him on how to improve.  Jason did a great job at speaking and also at humbly receiving advice.

Jessica especially enjoyed being a Student Instructor with several other students from her ICC chapter SpeakFIRST.

There was a very special evening ceremony on Friday night where all the SIs and interns told their "true stories" and interns gave some presentations.

After the conference Jessica had dinner with the conference team and the rest of us enjoyed dinner with some old friends.
