On the way up to Canada this June, we surprised our grandparents and cousins in Pittsburgh, PA for a short visit before continuing our journey. A few hours later, we stopped at Niagara Falls. Breathless and barely on time, we made it to the Maid of the Mist for the last ride of the day.
The mist makes for beautiful rainbows.
On the American side, we could walk around at the top of the falls.
On Friday, we crossed the border into Canada and reached our destination - Barry's Bay Cottages (near Algonquin Provincial Park).
Most of the week, we enjoyed the relaxing environment of a cabin on a lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and swimming. However, we did spend Tuesday hiking in Algonquin on the Booths Rock Trail.
The call of the water on this gorgeous day was too strong to resist, even on a hike!

EXCITING NEWS!!!!!!
Jason and I both caught fish!!! This one may look small, but our family almost never catches anything... ever. I'm thoroughly covered because of the ferocious bugs. They were pretty much the only thing bad about the whole time at the cottage.

We had some special times singing praise songs while Jason played guitar.
Janelle, Jessica, Jason, and I took a morning paddle through this tunnel to a lake beside ours where we jumped out of our boats for a swim.
On Wednesday, Mom, Jessica, Janelle, and I drove south to Frankfurt where we attended our cousin Ben's graduation, stayed overnight and then headed back to Barry's Bay early the next morning.

After packing up on Friday, we ended our time with a ping pong tournament.
We drove back to the Mills' house on Friday, and spent the weekend there playing games, swimming in Lake Ontario, and talking, of course.
How do you like Julia's words?
We left at about 6am Sunday morning and made it to church in Syracuse, NY where we attended church in the same place where Mommy was baptized, and then headed home.
