"So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth"(Hosea 6:3 NASB).
~one of our memory verses this summer
This year is our family's 5th year to do the National Bible Bee. But for the first time this year, we're hosting our local Bee! Hosting includes lots of responsibilities including finding and preparing a venue, recruiting and coordinating volunteers, planning contest day as well as at least 3 other events through the summer, plus anything else. A few other things we've done this summer is get a group of prayer warriors to for several contestants by name through the summer. We've also matched up some of the students with accountability partners to encourage one another through the studying.
Our first Bible Bee gathering was a potluck picnic... except it rained so we had it inside. Some of our activities included a Bible names ice breaker activity, eating, a "Bible Bee through the summer" skit by our family, a testimony about Nationals from our friend Ryan Sinni, games and prayer request time for the kids, and encouragement and ideas time for the moms and dads. We were also blessed to have four of our volunteers come and help too - we couldn't do this without them!
Here are a couple pictures (sorry they're not the greatest):
