Vacation Bible School
This past week we have been involved in our church's VBS. We all had a great time either helping or participating. Our family took care of registration (which we found out is more work than it looks like on the surface). The registration role included organizing pre-registration forms, dividing children into teams (keeping families together but even between grade and motivation levels), labeling booklets and pins for each participant, figuring out all of above for those who register at VBS, etc. It's a lot, but we had a great time getting everything organized. We also got to greet everybody each morning! Jessica helped in one of the 4's - K classes, Joanna helped with grades 3-4, and I helped with grades 5-6. Jason, Jeannine, and Julia were in classes.
In some ways it seems a shame that much work is put into one week of VBS that flies by so quickly, but it is a blessing to everyone involved. It's encouraging to see how everyone works together so well to make things run smoothly.
Each day included singing, Bible memory, games, snacks, Bible stories (told by wonderful story tellers), and point earning for a contest at the end of each day. Friday night parents came for the Summit Celebration (the theme was mountain climbing) where they could see their children sing and recite Scripture, and hear about what their children had been learning.

P.S. I tried to put pictures, but somehow things aren't working right, I'll try later
